EXTENDED TOUR DESCRIPTION

A COLLECTION AS MANAGEABLE AS IT IS BEAUTIFUL

The Borghese Gallery tour takes you inside one of the most spell-binding art museums in the world. Located in the 17th century home of Cardinal Borghese, it houses the art of the Cardinal himself - collected, commissioned (and even stolen!) during his lifetime. Since this is a private residence and not a sprawling palace, the Borghese Gallery is strikingly manageable. During your 2.5 hour visit you'll see all of the rooms and even have time to delve into the stories behind the artworks.

In the company of an expert art historian guide, you'll see paintings by Caravaggio, Titian, Canova, and Raphael. Your guide will help you understand and interpret these masterworks, so you won't just enjoy them, you'll understand them. You'll also see the incomparable collection of sculptures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, including Apollo and Daphne, the Rape of Proserpine, and more. This is art as it was meant to be seen, in a beautiful intimate setting.

THE UNPARALLELED JOY OF A QUIET GALLERY

Borghese Gallery tickets are a limited commodity. Only a set number of people are allowed inside at any given time, which has two results: First, the gallery is relatively peaceful at all times, particularly in comparison with the Vatican Museums; and second, tickets often sell out far in advance. We pre-reserve your tickets to guarantee that you won't be disappointed on the day.

GET THE MOST FROM YOUR VISIT WITH THE PERFECT HOST & SMALL GROUP SIZES.

Our Borghese gallery tour is not just about looking at art; it's about you’re experiencing it. With small groups of only 15 people or fewer you’ll have time and space to interact with your guide, discussing what you see on a more personal level, And, whether you think you love art or not, we promise: After this tour, you will love the Borghese – and probably Bernini, Caravaggio, Canova and Raphael, too.

Amazing tour! The galley is beautiful and I learned a ton about Bernini and others!
The tour was outstanding! I really appreciate the incredible amount of knowledge and passion that our guide brought to the tour! I would definitely recommend to my friends, and even take the tour again in the future.
Very nice museum. Excellent tour.
Michela was wonderful! She gave a great tour of the Borghese Gallery. It was obvious that she loved the material and was passionate about the art and history. She made learning and appreciating the pieces of art so much fun.
Guide was fabulous and helped me to really understand and appreciate the history and the beauty of the art.
My grandparents and I enjoyed the tour very much! The gallery itself is amazing and Felix was the perfect guide. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and his knowledge allowed us to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the art. Overall an incredible experience and a tour I would gladly take again!

I enjoyed my tour of Borghese Gallery, even though I had to leave partway through because my child was not handling the museum well. I was able to learn much of the history and see the important works on the first floor with the group before coming back to see the second floor on my own. Valentina was very helpful and knowledgeable.
It was an amazing tour with an unbelievable guide! Stephanie made sure you viewed the art from multiple perspectives and also gave pertinent interesting information, but not too much. The Borghese Gallery was stunning.
I was moved to tears as our guide described different sculptures. My whole family Gad a wonderful experience.
Luigi was fantastic! His knowledge was impeccable but it was his enthusiasm for the art and the artist that enhanced our experience beyond match. Bravo for Luigi and the Borghese Gallery.

+ Clear indication in the reservation e-mail where the guides would be waiting for us. A picture indeed says more than a thousands words. + Very punctual. + Very clear explanation inside the museum. The guide (Marty) very easily managed to get all of us involved in the tour. + Small group (6 persons), making interaction with the guide much easier. All in all, one of the best guided tours I have ever had.
Maria Grazia was perfect. She deftly wove us around the other groups so we had our own time with each painting or sculpture. She was very knowledgeable but with a great sense of humor.
Wonderful tour, we learned so much.
Our guide was passionate about her work and guidance in our appreciation of the art and experience! Thank you!
Cecilia was wonderful. The only thing I would change is the length of the tour. Make it 8 hours. Or 8 days. She is so knowledgeable and the museum so incredible.

I guess that we didn't really find Guido the best guide. He was very passionate about art and about the gallery however he seemed very rushed and spoke really quickly which made it difficult to follow. It felt a bit like information overload. Perhaps we are being harsh but we also had some outstanding guides with Walks ( Mike in Rome and Josephine in Paris who were both natural storytellers). I feel that either of those guides could walk us through the Borghese and keep us fascinated from beginning to end.
good tour, great guide, but under trying and limited cir umstances. Borghese has to limit time but even then there r too many people, groups, crowding to really appreciate all the great pieces. Guide was great and did good job picking out a highlight in each room and giving some appreciation and depth under poor gallery conditions

Wonderful walk around with Uta who has a great personality and a true passion for her subject.
Cecelia was very knowledgeable about art in the Borghese and it is clear that she has an extensive background in art history. What made this tour enjoyable was her very obvious love of art and art in the Borghese in particular, and this is an exceptional quality in a guide who does repetitive tours. Cecelia made the tour “fresh” and guided us in and out and back to rooms in a deliberate way that encouraged exploration and evaded crowds. Highly recommend her and Walks of Italy tours!
Our guide was so knowledgeable and her passion for the artwork was contagious! We really enjoyed the tour and learned a lot.
Both with this tour and the Catacombs tour with Marta, your folks were EXCELLENT! Well informed, warm and they KNEW the subject matter. On our own, we could not get into the Borghese.....Marta made a call....and viola we were in. Top notch guides (give them both a raise!) and organization....thank you!

My daughter and I did numerous tours while in Italy and this was our favourite tour . Francesca’ s knowledge and enthusiasm were exceptional and we would absolutely do this tour again and recommend this tour to our friends. Thank you to Francesca for providing us such a wonderful experience. Best regards, Elizabeth
Monica is a a superb guide with exceptional depth and breadth of knowledge of art history, philosophy, and religion. Her passion for the incredible works in the gallery permeated the entire tour and enhanced the experience immeasurably. This was our 4th Walks of Italy tour and we’re looking forward to the 5th in Florence. We LOVE Walks of Italy!
Great tour, Monica was excellent, could have used more time, although the museum does restrict the visits to two hours.

She was such a good Guide! She knows how to make people feel comfortable with her and each other. She is a very good Storyteller, She brought every statue and painting to life with many background stories and we really enjoyed walking with her is such a beautiful place.
The tour was good and Paola was very pleasant. I realize there are many great works to see in the Borghese Gallery and only two hours to see them, so I think it would be good to try and see more for a few minutes each instead of just a couple in each room and spending a large amount of time on those fewer number of works. Overall it was a good tour.
Guido was a good guide. He seems very knowledgeable about the subject and i found his explanations quite insightful. He was attentive and kind to the guests as well. I wish we could have longer time to view the artwork in the gallery but I guess it’s not the fault of the tour but the limit to the time and number of people the gallery itself lets in each time slot.
We loved Borghese Gallery and would highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide Cecilia made the tour so very interesting. Her knowledge of the art in the Gallery was so impressive. We learned so much and just loved her enthusiasm for the pieces in the Gallery. Highly recommend this tour!!!
