The Borghese Gallery tour takes you inside one of the most spell-binding art museums in the world. Located in the 17th century home of Cardinal Borghese, it houses the art of the Cardinal himself - collected, commissioned (and even stolen!) during his lifetime. Since this is a private residence and not a sprawling palace, the Borghese Gallery is strikingly manageable. During your 2.5 hour visit you'll see all of the rooms and even have time to delve into the stories behind the artworks.

In the company of an expert art historian guide, you'll see paintings by Caravaggio, Titian, Canova, and Raphael. Your guide will help you understand and interpret these masterworks, so you won't just enjoy them, you'll understand them. You'll also see the incomparable collection of sculptures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, including Apollo and Daphne, the Rape of Proserpine, and more. This is art as it was meant to be seen, in a beautiful intimate setting.

Borghese Gallery tickets are a limited commodity. Only a set number of people are allowed inside at any given time, which has two results: First, the gallery is relatively peaceful at all times, particularly in comparison with the Vatican Museums; and second, tickets often sell out far in advance. We pre-reserve your tickets to guarantee that you won't be disappointed on the day.

Our Borghese gallery tour is not just about looking at art; it's about you’re experiencing it. With small groups of only 15 people or fewer you’ll have time and space to interact with your guide, discussing what you see on a more personal level, And, whether you think you love art or not, we promise: After this tour, you will love the Borghese – and probably Bernini, Caravaggio, Canova and Raphael, too.

Excellent tour, excellent guide
This was a fantastic tour, and the guide was fabulous.
Guido was fantastic! A great tour.
Vincenti was a superb guide with lots of information on the Bernini sculptures. His knowledge brought the works of art to life. We were extremely pleased with the Borghese Tour Thank you Vincenti Pat & David Delcloo
I really enjoyed the Borghese Gallery especially because of the exellent job done by Tiberio. His descriptions were like poems! Thank you Tiberio and Walks of Italy:)
We loved the tour and really enjoyed Guido’s knowledge and story telling ability. If I were to offer any criticism, it would be that Guido’s knowledge filled up more time than the Gallery allowed us to visit, so it felt a little rushed. So much beauty to fit into so little time!

Loved it! The art was amazing. Martina was an excellent guide. I loved how she involved us in thinking about the pieces. She taught me so much. This was our favorite “Walks” tour.
Guide was excellent.
This was our first Art tour on arriving in Italy - so it was very special to be able to appreciate all of these pieces. Mara had wonderful knowledge of all of the art.
Really great!
Francesca not only provided a very comprehensive understanding of the Borghese Gallery, she was very strategic in ensuring that her small group saw the best the Gallery had to offer! Francesca’s art history background allowed insight and understanding which meant an enhanced group experience. This was the best tour we joined in Rome - far more satisfying than heavily booked major sights! Highly recommended!
Francesca was amazing. We have never looked at sculpture and paintings like we did with her. She brought out the "hidden" meanings of the works and how a piece of sculpture is meant to be viewed. We wish we could have spent a whole day with her!
Excellent tour with great guide. Would strongly recommend
Our guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and it made the tour both educational and extremely enjoyable.
I did three tours while in Rome and this was the best. Perhaps the main reason it was the best was because of both the passion of the tour guide and her ability to spend adequate time on each subject. One of the best tours & guides I have had.
This was a great tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the museum and art inside. So many works of art to really accomplish seeing them in just two hours. Tiberio was fantastic. Informed us about the pieces we were seeing in such a passionate way, we almost were watching him more than the art. LOL If I had one thing to suggest, Tiberio loves certain artist so much that he concentrated on them a little too much and did not leave time to discuss other works of art in each of the rooms that we visited. What art he did inform us about was done in amazing detail and enthusiasm. He was really engaging and answered all the questions we had. I would take this tour several times over.
Guido was an excellent host and very informative. The tour at night was wonderful as there were so few people at the museum. We loved our tour and or host!
Tiberius was a refreshingly brilliant guide who certainly enhanced the tour. His approach whilst unconventional was very effective in delivering a deeply insightful yet passionate discription of the paintings and objects de art including their context within the villa. Whilst clearly possessing a strong academic mastery of his subject I never felt excluded by the intensity of his performance as his enthusiasm was infectious and he enjoyed answering questions.
Martinis was one of the best guides we have ever experienced. She was extremely knowledgeable in art history and gifted in explaining clearly the different periods and styles, as well the development of the artists. She was clearly enthusiastic about her subject and was sensitive to the people in the tour group

Cici (our guide) was absolutely amazing. She made the entire experience engaging, friendly and educational. It was a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use your tours again.
Knowledgeable guide in the art and it's history, gave meaning and context to what we were seeing. It's so much nicer than reading. The guide also was able to answer any questions we may have had. The listening head set worked well, especially in a crowded room.
Tiberius was our guide. His knowledge and passion for history and the art displayed in the Borghese Gallery made this the best experience we had while visiting Italy. Thank you Tiberius!
It was wonderful. So glad we took the guided tour!!
Massimo was a terrific storyteller and brought the history alive. We would highly recommend the tour. This was our 4th and last Tour with Walks while we were in Italy. Each guide made their subjects interesting and accessible. We appreciated that each time the Tour was well organized, where they said they would be and on time. We observed that this was not the case with other companies and for this we were most appreciative. Thank you for making our visit to Italy so enjoyable!
Excellent tour. Great depth of info from our guide. So much to see; it was really important to have an informed guide. Our guide made certain all our questions were answered and all our interest areas were probed in depth. Great tour; highly recommended.
Michela was great! We also had her as tour guide for another tour. She is very insightful with interesting facts about the gallery and the items in it!
Loved Tibero’s knowledge, passion for art and his personality. Wonderful tour.
Massimo was a great storyteller, the tour was a Rome highlight
Tiberius was awesome. He was so passionate about the works in the gallery he made them come alive while adding historical context. Wonderful tour that was a definite highlight of our entire visit to Rome.
Massimo was an excellent guide. Extremely knowledgeable as an art historian, he was also a lively storyteller, and gave great background into the personalities, politics and society at the time. Wish we had more than 2 hours inside- loved it!
Giulia was terrific. My husband is not an art enthusiast and he found the tour fascinating! I don't think we could have truly enjoyed the gallery with Giulia's commentary, she brought the collection to life. (Also, the directions were very useful.)
Ferdinando was an fabulous guide. He had a depth of knowledge in regards to the art, brought historical context, as well as background information on Borghese. His enthusiasm was contagious. We took a number of tours as we traveled through Italy and by far Ferdinando guiding us through the Borghese was the highlight. Please give that man a raise 😎
Was informative and learnt some background about the painters. Bernini's sculptures are breathtaking and the guide Jon. made the experience even more worthwhile.
Guido was fantastic. The Borghese Gallery is a must see! Access is limited so our tour time was changed from the original booking time, however, worth the wait. I received an email regarding the change in tour time but would recommend also texting the information too, as I do not check my email regularly while on vacation. Don't miss this tour!
Michaela was knowledgeable, personable, and fun - we really enjoyed the tour!
Wonderful tour and I felt that I learned something about art appreciation.
Guido was an excellent guide. Top of his game!
Great guide with knowledge and passion for the exhibits.
Cecilia was wonderful in showcasing the paintings and sculpted statues, the history and the vignettes of the artists!
Please pass on our gratitude to Valentina who made our visit to the beautiful gallery most memorable . Clearly Valentina is extremely knowledgeable , however , what makes her standout is her warmth she has for both the art & those interested in learning about the subject in as much detail as one would like . As art lovers my wife & I appreciate Valentina's dedication . You are lucky to have her on your team !
