Tour description

Walk in the footsteps of the Medici through Florence

Your Uffizi Secret Passages tour begins at the Uffizi Gallery, the beating heart of Renaissance art. With skip-the-line access, you’ll bypass the long waits and step straight into a treasure trove of works by Botticelli, Michelangelo, and Da Vinci. As your expert guide shares the historical and artistic context behind each masterpiece, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Florence’s place in the world of art. On this private tour, you'll be able to ask questions and interact with your guide on a deeper level, spending more time at the pieces that speak to you.

Cross a secret corridor once hidden from the public eye

After a short break, you’ll reconvene for your Vasari Corridor tour. This elevated passageway built in 1565 for the Medici family to move unseen between their residence and government offices takes you over the Ponte Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti, the former Medici palace. Closed to the public for over eight years, entrance to this secret passage is highly sought after. Not only does it offer rare perspectives over the Arno River and the city beyond, but a glimpse into life as the most powerful family in Florence. Along the way, your guide will share stories that bring the space—and the family who built it—to life.

End your experience in a palace fit for a dynasty

Your Vasari Corridor tour leads you straight to Palazzo Pitti, where opulence and power go hand in hand. This was the Medici family’s private home, and its scale still impresses. But you're here to see the Buontalenti Grotto. Tucked into the Boboli Gardens, this surreal cave of sculpture and stone was designed for pure fantasy—a secret indulgence from a family who shaped the city. From Renaissance masterpieces to once-forbidden hallways, this Uffizi secret passage tour brings you into the very soul of Florence’s golden age.

I had a one-on-one tour with Anika. I would have given 5 stars but for the bad communication with the company. I tried to contact them a few times the day before the tour - never had a response. I contacted Viator who also tries to contact the company by phone - no answer. By this point I assumed I had been scammed! But in fact it was a wonderful tour - not too many paintings/works looked at, but loads of detail and nuance about the art, so I feel I got a lot more out of the tour, than had I tried to “see” everything. Lots of insider tips too.

Federico was a phenomenal guide. He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. We had a wonderful tour and would highly recommend this tour to anyone considering visiting the Uffizi Gallery. Skipping the long line was an added bonus.

Uffizi was great but one should bear in mind the Vasari corridor is a glorified hallway that takes time away from the Uffizi itself and just lands you a 40 euros uber ride away from city center (unless you had business at palazzo pitti afterwards). Half the price is basically skip the line, and if so, the other half isn’t worth it for the Vasari corridor, which also has no artwork worth mentioning.

Our guide Greta was knowledgeable and fantastic. Even though we have been to Florence many times, we learned new things about this city we love.
