Why did I found Walks of Italy?
 
Because I can’t think of a worse way to experience a local culture than spending your whole vacation crammed on a bus with 50 other tourists. Because I believe that to see the best of Italy, you need to get out there and discover— on foot. Because I know this country has more to offer than what’s in your guidebook. And because I think our clients are just too smart not to agree with us.
 
I first realized this back in 2001, when I started providing tours in Rome and Florence. I love the art, history, and culture of Italy, and it must have showed: My walks immediately started receiving rave reviews in print and online, from the Rick Steves guidebooks to the New York Times. But there were other great guides in Italy, too. My goal became to create a way for visitors to Italy to have access to the best of the best—not just of those guides, but of Italy’s sites.
 
Seven years later, I saw that dream come true. Today, I continue to personally select each guide I work with and monitor the quality of every walk that’s given. And our team of travel experts answers our clients’ questions at every step, from which cities they should visit to what hotels they should book. Our purpose is to make your experience as personalized, and memorable, as possible.
