Get Acquainted With Central Paris Through The Eyes Of A Local

The best way to get to know Paris is to have a local show you around. On this Paris walking tour we provide the local; all you have to do is show up and enjoy the most enlightening evening stroll in the city. Your tour will not only introduce you to some of the city’s most popular attractions, it will also teach you how to navigate the city and provides you with plenty of recommendations for things to see and places to eat later.

Witness the best view of Paris in the best light

Your Paris tour starts with one of the best views in the city; the roof of the Pompidou Center. Here you’ll soak in the panorama as your guide points out iconic sites like the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower, and the towers of Notre Dame. In the fading light of evening the city is even more beautiful you think it will be. While you’re there, your guide will help you orient yourself on your map so navigating your way around the city, from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre or on to Montmartre, will be easier for you later.

Explore a more local side of the city in The Marais

Next you’ll head into the the narrow lanes of Marais and the Jewish neighborhood to learn how immigrants have added to the vibrant mosaic of Parisian life over the years. Along the way your guide will point out great bars and restaurants which now populate many of the little corners in these now trendy neighborhoods.

As you wander you’ll pass beloved Paris landmarks like the city’s oldest and most beautiful square, the Place des Vosges, where Victor Hugo once lived and wrote stories like ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘Les Misérables’; the secret village of Saint Paul; and the jaw-dropping mansion, the Hôtel de Sully.

Discover The Heart Of Historic Paris on its islands

From here you’ll head over to the Île de la Cité and Île de St. Louis, two of the oldest quarters in the city, for a crash course in Parisian history. On these islands you’ll learn the origins of the city and see classic attractions like the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Conciergerie (where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned and sentenced to death).

Crossing the Seine to the South Bank you’ll pop into the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés to get more recommendations for the best places to return to later in your stay. You’ll also stop into a local bakery to taste one of Paris’ most beloved sweet treats - macarons.

Your Paris walking tour lasts for 3 hours but the historical and practical info you gain will stay with you long after. From where to go and what to see, to how to make the best use of your map and use the metro; there is no better way to set yourself up for the trip of a lifetime.
