See the best of the Louvre with an expert guide

The Louvre is not only home to one of the greatest collections of art ever compiled, it’s also one of the grandest and most historically important buildings in Paris. This one-time royal palace where princesses attended balls and princes rode horses up and down the hallways has been turned into one of the most jaw-dropping museums in the world. This tour takes you on a dazzling 2-hour journey through the history of the building and the art that it now holds.

After skipping the (always long) entrance lines you’ll step into the immense galleries on a carefully coordinated itinerary that takes you past the most iconic works in the collection. Highlights include paintings by Leonardo da Vinci and his incomparable Mona Lisa, sculptures by Michelangelo and Canova, statues from antiquity like the Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and the major works of the French Romantics like Géricault’s ‘Raft of Medusa’, which depicts the true story of shipwrecked sailors driven to cannibalism. As you see each work your guide will tell the the stories and anecdotes that will help you understand and decode the art, like how being stolen helped the Mona Lisa become more famous, why the authorities hid the true age of the Venus de Milo.

A world-renowned setting for world-renowned art

You’ll also learn the history of each rooms you visit as well as the royal dramas that played out in them hundreds of year ago. From beautiful ceiling frescoes and cases full of crown jewels, to opulent stonework and detailed friezes, the building itself is one the highlights of the museum and you’ll learn all about it as you explore its vast halls.

A short but sweet way to see the Louvre

The museums can be crowded but you’ll have headsets to help you hear your guide and to ensure that you don’t get lost. Traveling in a small group of just 20 people or fewer, interacting with your guide and asking them questions will be a breeze. All the better since they have all the answers! We hire only the best, most qualified licensed guides to lead our Louvre tours.

Skip long lines and join us on this short (but immensely sweet) adventure into the heart of French art and history.
