Experience the joys of Italian cooking accompanied by warm and authentic Tuscan hospitality as our expert local chef welcomes you into the heart of their central Florence home for a hands-on culinary experience you’ll never forget. Our pasta and gelato making evening offers a complete overview of Tuscan culinary culture and will no doubt be a highlight of your trip to the region’s romantic capital.
Your Italian culinary adventure begins at the atmospheric Piazza Santo Spirito, where you’ll be met by your Walks Guide. Following a short - but informative - 10-minute amble you’ll be warmly welcomed into the home of your chef and mentor for the evening, who will begin the occasion with an obligatory Italian olive oil tasting.
Chow down on some delectable Tuscan treats as you learn about Italy’s culinary history and discover some of the best foodie secrets of the Tuscan countryside.
Florence is the home of gelato, and you’ll learn how it made its mark as one of the most mouthwatering desserts in the world, before trying your hand at making your own. Encouraged along by our inspiring chefs you’ll discover how to create your own perfect pasta from scratch - a skill which will no doubt impress friends and family when you wow them with your new tasty talent at home! After that, it’s time to awaken the senses as you touch, taste and smell the fabulous fresh Italian produce that goes into creating one of the country’s most celebrated sauces and, if the season allows for it, you’ll also prepare a second delectable pasta sauce using fresh Italian truffles.
Following your successful spell in the kitchen, it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor with a sumptuous meal complete with wine pairings among new foodie friends.
Our pasta and gelato making evening is exclusive to small groups of 14 or fewer, so your culinary course feels less like a class and more like an intimate dinner party with friends. It’s suitable for well-seasoned chefs and amateurs alike. What’s more, you can discover where to shop for the best ingredients in Florence (should you wish to hone your skills during your stay!) and are free to interrogate your knowledgeable hosts for recommendations on where the real local chefs eat across Italy!
