Uffizi Gallery – Raphael, Da Vinci & Botticelli

Extended Description

First opened to visitors in 1591, the Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s oldest museums. Covering an area of some 86,000 square feet, it also happens to be one of the biggest. As if that weren’t enough, it’s also the best art collection in all of Italy!

All of that can make the Uffizi pretty overwhelming. Luckily, the paintings are arranged in chronological order which means you feel like you’re traveling through time, tracing the world’s most important artistic movements as they happened.

Your expert guide will walk you through this incredible museum and show you how to actually see how artistic techniques developed over the centuries and how the Renaissance changed everything.

As you hear stories of not only art, but passion, politics and greed, discover everything from the Renaissance’s earliest stages (masterpieces by greats like Cimabue, Duccio and Giotto) to the real classics, including—perhaps most famous of all!—Botticelli’s Primavera and Birth of Venus. Learn about the legacy these Renaissance painters left by exploring later pieces by Titian and Caravaggio. It all adds up to more than just a museum tour, but a voyage through time!

We’ll end our walk on the Uffizi's rooftop terrace, so you can continue to explore the galleries (maybe applying the ideas and knowledge you’ve just learned!). And, by the time we part ways, you won’t feel overwhelmed from walking through the endless galleries alone, or bored by a guide who tries to be esoteric instead of engaging. You’ll feel both entertained… and like you have a real grasp on how Florentine art changed the world, not to mention affected our own, “modern” ideas of beauty!

With a maximum of just 11 other people with you, we guarantee you’ll have a personal and memorable visit. The small size of the group will enable you to easily hear your guide, ask questions and get a more “private” experience!
